Please comment below on the 5 requirements from Choosing the technology branch for the v 1.0 roadmap regarding projects related to launch vehicle Navigation, Guidance, and Control Subsystem. Feel free to brain storm potential projects related to this subsystem, evaluate any or all requirements, or otherwise comment on the suitability of this subsystem for the v 1.0 roadmap. Note, the end result should be group consensus on requirements score and any notes to include on the evaluation page in the wiki.

This seems like it would be closely intertwined with the attitude control system.

There's a note specifically prohibiting "active controls (RF, GPS)" on the hobby and high-powered rockets that are not covered by ITAR; also guidance systems are a problem. We'd have to dig into the specifics of this system to see where it crosses the line.

Following the conversation from last week's #EngineerSpeak, here are some thoughts on engineering expertise. GNC is a very controls and sensors heavy field. I am not really sure where our volunteers stand in terms of expertise in controls, but if we have controls experts, I doubt we have more than one or two, so I am going to make a conservative estimate and call this a 1 for now, with the understanding that I would be happy to revise this up if we have several controls folks and I just didn't realize it.

But, the potential for export control issues (as evidenced by the need to research where we would cross the line) probably puts this category out of the running for this round of development.
