Budget

A proper budget will be uploaded here soon, but it is fairly simple. Overall budget was set at $500.00 and was funded at $300.00.
The Az-El mount was to be a level 1 kite ($200.00 build cost). Since the parts for the ground station ended up costing $210.93, I am over budget for the Az-El mount level one kite, but not grossly so. The bill of materials (BOM) has a few items (marked in red) where we can cut the cost below the $200.00 mark.
the antenna was to be a level one kite with enough free funds to purchase an inexpensive Chinese radio, cables and other equipment. The radio I purchased (a Baofeng UV-5R) cost $54.00 including shipping, the adapter to connect this radio to the antenna cost around $3.00, and the RG-58 cables to go to the roof mount will run about $40.00. This leaves $103.00 for the antennas.
The project is well below the $500.00 project budget even with the overage. I expect the antennas to cost between $80.00 to $120.00 for the pair. Adding this to the cost of parts and adding 20% we are still far below budget at around $396.00, or less than 75% of projected budget. The additional funds necessary to complete the project (if any) will come out of my personal funds.
