Is this primarily focused on materials science? Things like heat shield materials and their manufacture?

Yes, you got it. I would hazard a guess that the fabrication score for this (in terms of the materials and the test hardware) would be quite low for us right now. I am not as sure about whether or not we have the engineering expertise to design projects in this category.

Extending on my previous comment, I will just call engineering expertise a 0-1 (Jason D. has some background in this, but I am not sure if he will be working on hardware projects given his interest in CodeCAD).
