v0.2 Ground Plane
Added by Jeremy Wright about 9 years ago
Sorry for the naive questions, but I'm starting to procure parts to build a copy of v0.2 and feel that the ground plane stitching is going to cause me trouble. I doubt I'm going to be able to make a satisfactory ground plane in a reasonable amount of time.
1. Is it possible to use a radial style ground plane in this instance? Example here. That doc gives the ground plane radial dimensions for 915 MHz towards the bottom.
2. This mesh is rated for 40 dB at 1 GHz and has the same dimensions as mesh that I can buy at my local hardware store. Can I use that instead of the current ripstop fabric if I remove the coating to attach the ground lead(s)?
If I can use the stiffer mesh I have some thoughts on how to do the ground plane without stitching. I would need to experiment a little in the dev logs to be sure though.
